POLICE are treating an arson attack in Co. Antrim as a racially-motivated hate crime. Two cars were set on fire, while a nearby property was attacked and daubed with graffiti. ‘Shocking and brutal attack’: Priest in serious condition in hospital after assault in Co. Down church

A PRIEST has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after being assaulted in a church in Co. Down this morning. The incident occurred at around 10.10am inside St Patrick's Church in Downpatrick. Three in court after more than €1.2m in cash seized in Dublin

THREE people have appeared in court after more than €1.2m in cash was seized in Dublin as part of an operation targeting an organised crime group. Arrest made over fire at Dublin pub owned by Conor McGregor

GARDAÍ investigating a fire at a Dublin pub owned by Conor McGregor have arrested a man in connection with the incident. Emergency services were called to the blaze at the Black Forge in Drimnagh in the early hours of Friday, July 25. On this day St. Columcille, or St. Colomba, died. His feast day of June 9 is recognized by the Catholic Church. Born in Co. Donegal to a royal family, Columcille gave up his claims in favor of becoming a monk at Glasnevin. He became one of the “Twelve Apostles of Ireland” who studied under St. Finnian. After a dispute with St. Finnian over copying the Battle Book of the O’Donnells, the battle of Cooldrevny was sparked. Columcille felt responsible for the lives lost, and in his penance, he left Ireland. He travelled to Scotland and established a monastery on Iona, which would become the center of learning for the Celtic Christian region. It is believed that the Book of Kells was started at Iona.
