For nearly four decades, Irish America has celebrated leaders in the Irish community and the financial sector. In 1998, the inaugural Wall Street 50 list emerged, recognizing individuals not just for their financial prowess, but also for their philanthropic endeavors. This dedication to giving back remains a core principle today, and we continue to be inspired by our honorees’ generosity.
From its inception, the Wall Street 50 has consistently recognized a remarkable, diverse, and inspiring group of financiers. From the very beginning, Irish America has celebrated industry pioneers, including trailblazers like Peter Lynch, whose management of the Magellan Fund yielded staggering returns, and Dennis Kelleher, founder of Wall Street Access, whose son, Sean continues the family legacy and was recognized on 2023 Wall Street 50 list.
Diversity and inclusion within the financial industry are evident in the Wall Street 50’s evolution. The inaugural list in 1998 featured just three women breaking barriers on Wall Street. By 2023, the list grew to include 22 women at the forefront of the industry, representing prominent firms like BNY Mellon, Ernst & Young, Morgan Stanley, and UBS.
Looking forward to the 2024 Wall Street 50 on October 9th, we are thrilled to announce Andrew McMahon, President and CEO of Guardian Life, as our keynote speaker. With over three decades of insurance experience, McMahon leads a team dedicated to promoting the well-being of millions of consumers. This year’s list will again feature a blend of rising stars and seasoned Wall Street veterans, embodying the spirit of Irish America.
Join us for another exciting celebration of the Wall Street 50 at the prestigious New York Yacht Club on Wednesday, October 9th! The 2023 awards dinner was a huge success, and we anticipate another unforgettable evening in 2024. Reservations are required and seating is limited so secure your seats now before they’re gone!
