Over 80s to be given free RSV vaccination in Northern Ireland

PEOPLE aged 80 and over in Northern Ireland are to be offered a free vaccination against the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). A common virus which causes cold-like symptoms, RSV can cause severe complications in older people and can lead to hospitalisation. Annette Malone ‘honoured’ to be appointed Chief People Officer at RTÉ

Industrial worker dies following collision with lorry in Omagh

A MAN has died following a collision with a lorry in Omagh. The industrial worker was struck by the vehicle in the Donaghee area of the town at around 10.20am on February 2. First Minister of Northern Ireland, Peter Robinson stated that February 4 of 2011 marked a ‘new era’ in Belfast’s history after Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall paid the first ever Royal visit to a Catholic Church in Northern Ireland. The Prince of Wales went to see the £3.5 million restoration project at St. Malachy’s Church and met with churchgoers and representatives from parish groups, including the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and St. Malachy’s Primary School. Just fifteen years ago, this visit would have been near impossible.
