Cocaine and MDMA worth more than €300k seized in Dublin

DRUGS worth more than €300k has been seized following raids on properties in Dublin. Driver dies following collision in Co. Wexford

GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a man died following a collision in Co. Wexford. The single-vehicle incident happened on the L4007 at Maudlin’s Cross, near New Ross, at around 1.10pm on Tuesday, January 20. Garda operation sees 25 convicted sex offenders deported from Ireland

A TOTAL of 25 convicted sex offenders were deported from Ireland last year under the Gardaí’s Operation Moonridge. Archbishop Paul Cullen of Dublin becomes the first Irish cardinal on this day in 1866. Born in Co. Kildare, Cullen went on to study at the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith. Cullen was appointed rector of Irish College and helped secure the college’s future. While rector from 1832-1850, he forged a close friendship with Pope Gregory XVI and Pope Pius IX and helped safeguard the interests of the Irish church. He was first made Archbishop of Armagh and then transferred to Archbishop of Dublin in 1852, where he would be later made a cardinal.
