A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital following a reported assault in Co. Tyrone. Officers on patrol in Omagh discovered the injured man in the early hours of this morning. Pedestrian, 93, passes away following Co. Down collision

AN ELDERLY man has died following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Co. Down. The incident occurred on the Newry Road in Rathfriland shortly after 10.45pm on Saturday. POLICE in England are appealing for information on a wanted man who has links to Ireland. Thinkwell Javangwe, 39, is wanted after he breached a court order. The ban restricting Catholics from attending Trinity College Dublin is finally lifted on this day in 1970. Through the help of the then Archbishop of Dublin John McQuaid, the Roman Catholic church removes its policy of disapproval or even excommunication for Catholics who enrolled at Trinity College without the proper permission. Authorities at the school also allow for a Catholic chaplain to be based at the college.
