‘Proud moment’ as new Guinness brewery opens its doors in London

A NEW Guinness Brewery is set to open in London this week offering tours and tastings in the heart of the capital. Late Late Toy Show raises more than €30m for good causes in six years

THE annual Late Late Toy Show has raised more than €30m for good causes over the past six years it was revealed this week. Appeal for witnesses after pedestrian dies in Dublin collision

A PUBLIC appeal had been issued following a fatal collision which happened in Dublin last night. A pedestrian was struck by a car on the N11 in Foxrock at around 6.45pm, Gardaí confirmed today. Man arrested in connection with Lisa Dorrian murder investigation released

A MAN who was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into the murder of Lisa Dorrian in Co. Down has been released. Ms Dorrian was 25 years old when she disappeared after attending a party in Ballyhalbert Caravan Park on February 27, 2005. TOMMY MESKILL has been announced as the new co-host of RTÉ’s flagship news programme. The ban restricting Catholics from attending Trinity College Dublin is finally lifted on this day in 1970. Through the help of the then Archbishop of Dublin John McQuaid, the Roman Catholic church removes its policy of disapproval or even excommunication for Catholics who enrolled at Trinity College without the proper permission. Authorities at the school also allow for a Catholic chaplain to be based at the college.
