Cocaine and MDMA worth more than €300k seized in Dublin

DRUGS worth more than €300k has been seized following raids on properties in Dublin. Driver dies following collision in Co. Wexford

GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a man died following a collision in Co. Wexford. The single-vehicle incident happened on the L4007 at Maudlin’s Cross, near New Ross, at around 1.10pm on Tuesday, January 20. A TOTAL of 25 convicted sex offenders were deported from Ireland last year under the Gardaí’s Operation Moonridge. MPs vote to remove conditional immunity over Troubles-era crimes from Legacy Act

“Ireland’s Golden Tenor” Frank Patterson was born in Co. Tipperary on this day in 1938. Patterson started singing as a young boy with his local church choir. He moved to Dublin in 1961 to enroll at the National Academy of Theater and studied acting and received vocal training. While studying in Paris, he caught the attention of Philips Recording Company after a radio broadcast. He signed a deal and recorded his first record “My Dear Native Land.” He moved to the U.S. where he achieved the most success, selling out New York’s Carnegie Hall. He also performed for Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.
