THE public has been warned to be vary of fake websites and adverts with ‘personal development’ offers after a recent scam saw a man lose £20k. Tánaiste ‘deeply concerned’ over instances of antisemitism in Ireland

THERE is “no room” for antisemitism in Ireland Tánaiste Simon Harris said after meeting with members of the nation’s Jewish community. A BELFAST man who threatened a council worker with a hammer has been sentenced after pleading guilty to assault. Hottest summer in Ireland since records began

IRELAND has just experienced its warmest summer since records began in 1900 according to Met Éireann. The national average temperature reached 16.19°C, which surpasses the previous high of 16.11°C recorded twenty years ago. August 19, 1876

The ship “Catalpa,” which carried six Irish Fenians who escaped from Australia, docked in the U.S. on this day in 1876. Funded by Clan na Gael and several pardoned Fenians already in the U.S., the “Catalpa” was purchased by the organization and set sail for western Australia where Thomas Darragh, Martin Hogan, Michael Harrington, Thomas Hassett, Robert Cranston and James Wilson were serving a penal colony sentence. The men were rescued from Australia on April 17, 1876 and the ship docked in New York on August 19.
