Police treat Belfast burglary as racially-motivated hate incident

POLICE in Belfast have said they are treating a burglary in the city as a racially-motivated hate incident. The burglary occurred at a property in the Glen Road area in the west of the city at around 8.30pm on Thursday. Taoiseach condemns ‘deeply disturbing’ arson attack at IPAS centre in Co. Louth

TAOISEACH Micheál Martin has described an arson attack at an International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) centre in Co. Louth as 'deeply disturbing'. A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was seriously injured during an incident in Co. Tyrone. GARDAÍ have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man days after he was assaulted in Co. Kildare. Representatives appointed by Eamon de Valera of the Irish government, who include revolutionary Michael Collins, meet with representatives of the crown on this day in 1921 to sign the Anglo-Irish treaty. This officially marked the end of the Irish War for Independence. Collins, who did not support the agreement, remarked “I have signed by own death warrant.” One year later, however, the Irish Free State would come into being.
