Teenagers arrested after jumping out of moving car which ploughed into garden fence

€2m funding earmarked to teach Irish language in UK and EU universities

A FUNDING pot of nearly €2m has been allocated to support the teaching of Irish at universities in Europe and the UK. Ireland’s Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary confirmed today he has approved up to €681,146 per academic year for the period 2025-26 to 2027-28, which amounts to €1.979m in total. Paul “Bono” Hewson married his high school sweetheart Alison Stewart on this day in 1982. The two first met at Dublin’s Mount Temple Comprehensive School and began dating in 1975. They were married at All Saints Church in Dublin. Bono has dedicated two songs to his wife, “The Sweetest Thing” and “All I Want is You.” The couple has four children together.
