Woman charged in connection with fatal St Stephen’s Day collision

A WOMAN has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision in Dublin on St Stephen’s Day. Two people were hit in the incident which happened near the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre at around 5.45pm on December 26, 2024. Man arrested on suspicion of murder of Annie McCarrick in 1993

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Annie McCarrick. The 26-year-old went missing from her home in Dublin on March 26, 1993. Leisure centre torched and hatchet thrown at police in third night of riots

A LEISURE centre was set alight as riots continued in Northern Ireland last night. Nine police officers were injured in Ballymena, Co. Shop owner fined for selling nicotine product to a child

A SHOP owner in Belfast has been fined for selling a nicotine product to a child. Michael O’Reilly, of O’Reilly’s on Donegall Street, pleaded guilty to the offence at a hearing at Belfast Magistrates Court on June 10. August 22, 1922

Irish revolutionary and politician Michael Collins was assassinated in Co. Cork during an ambush on this day in 1922. Collins, who was the preeminent Sinn Fein leader, helped stage the 1916 Easter Rising in response to British parliament’s opposition to Irish home rule. An annual commemoration is held every August 22 in Cork and at Collins’s graveside at Glasnevin.
