A MAN has been jailed over a machete attack that left the victim with life-changing injuries and contributed to the death of the victim's father. Police name man who died in Co. Antrim collision

POLICE have named a man who died in a Co. Antrim collision involving a car and a pedestrian as 24-year-old Jamie Mitchell from Portrush. FAI votes in favour of motion calling for ‘immediate suspension’ of Israel from European football

IRISH football's governing body has voted overwhelmingly in favour of submitting a motion to UEFA to suspend Israel from European football. Ireland’s unemployment rate at 5% as youth joblessness reaches four-year high

IRELAND'S unemployment rate remained at 5% in October, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), as the number of people out of work edged higher compared with last year. PSNI launch hate crime investigation after Alliance HQ vandalised

POLICE have launched a hate crime investigation after graffiti was sprayed on the Alliance Party’s headquarters in what officers are treating as a sectarian-motivated incident. February 10, 1904

John Farrow, screenwriter, director and father of actress Mia Farrow, was born on February 10, 1904 in Sydney, Australia to John Farrow and Mary Savage Villiers. After working as a sailor he went to Hollywood in the 1920s and got his first job as a technical advisor. He then became a screenwriter in, notably writing the script for “Tarzan Escapes” (1936) where he met his  future wife, Irish-born Maureen O’Sullivan, who played Jane. She converted Farrow to Catholicism and he later wrote biographies of Saint Thomas More and Saint Damien of Molokai. Farrow’sgreatest accomplishments were his Academy Award win for the “Around the World in Eighty Days” (1956) script and his nomination as Best Director for Wake Island (1942).
