Celtic memorial unveiled honouring ‘enduring friendship’ between Ireland and Choctaw nation

A PERMANENT memorial has been unveiled in the US honouring the links between Ireland and the Choctaw nation. The Eternal Heart sculpture has been installed at the Choctaw Capitol Grounds in Oklahoma. Racist and sectarian graffiti spray-painted on homes in Derry

POLICE have launched an investigation after racist and sectarian graffiti was spray-painted onto new build homes in Derry. President John F. Kennedy receives a warm welcome upon his visit to his ancestral home in Co. Wexford, Ireland. Marking the second day of his four day trip through Ireland, Kennedy also visited the nearby town of New Ross, where his great-grandfather Patrick Kennedy left from in 1848 during the potato famine. Kennedy made a speech stating, “When my great-grandfather left here to become a cooper in East Boston he carried nothing with him except two things–a strong religious faith and a strong desire for liberty. I am proud to say that all of his grandchildren have valued that inheritance.”
