Celtic memorial unveiled honouring ‘enduring friendship’ between Ireland and Choctaw nation

A PERMANENT memorial has been unveiled in the US honouring the links between Ireland and the Choctaw nation. The Eternal Heart sculpture has been installed at the Choctaw Capitol Grounds in Oklahoma. Racist and sectarian graffiti spray-painted on homes in Derry

POLICE have launched an investigation after racist and sectarian graffiti was spray-painted onto new build homes in Derry. Driver dies after car collides with tree

A MAN has died after the car he was driving collided with a tree in Co. Derry, The 35-year-old was the sole occupant of the car - a blue Vauxhall Astra - which was involved in a collision at around 8.40pm last night (September 2). The ban restricting Catholics from attending Trinity College Dublin is finally lifted on this day in 1970. Through the help of the then Archbishop of Dublin John McQuaid, the Roman Catholic church removes its policy of disapproval or even excommunication for Catholics who enrolled at Trinity College without the proper permission. Authorities at the school also allow for a Catholic chaplain to be based at the college.
