Tributes paid to young man killed in Sligo collision

TRIBUTES have been paid to a young man who was killed in a collision in Sligo over the weekend. James McNeive, of Knock in Co. Mayo, died on Sunday, August 4 when the van he was driving was involved in a collision with a lorry shortly after 6am on the N15 at Urlar, Drumcliffe. Four eagle chicks released into wild under scheme to bring extinct species back to Ireland

FOUR white-tailed eagle chicks have been released into the wild in Ireland as part of a project to reintroduce the once extinct species back to the island. Funeral confirmed for mother-of-two killed in Cork attack

FUNERAL details have been confirmed for a mother-of-two who was found fatally injured in a burning building in Cork over the weekend. Daena Walsh was found seriously injured at her home in Midleton at around 4.15pm on August 2. Wiffen ‘happy but disappointed at the same time’ with bronze medal

President John F. Kennedy receives a warm welcome upon his visit to his ancestral home in Co. Wexford, Ireland. Marking the second day of his four day trip through Ireland, Kennedy also visited the nearby town of New Ross, where his great-grandfather Patrick Kennedy left from in 1848 during the potato famine. Kennedy made a speech stating, “When my great-grandfather left here to become a cooper in East Boston he carried nothing with him except two things–a strong religious faith and a strong desire for liberty. I am proud to say that all of his grandchildren have valued that inheritance.”
