A SUSPICIOUS object that sparked a security alert in Co. Armagh on Tuesday evening has been declared a hoax. The object was found at around 8.45pm in the Upper Church Lane area of Portadown. Former Dublin Airport police officer extradited to Northern Ireland to serve sentence for money laundering

A FORMER Dublin Airport police officer who laundered millions of pounds for organised crime groups has been extradited to Northern Ireland to serve a prison sentence. Police investigate after woman sexually assaulted in Co. Armagh

POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Co. Armagh. The incident occurred in the Aldervale area of Craigavon at around 10.20pm on Tuesday. A PRISONER who strangled his cellmate to death has been convicted of manslaughter by dismissed responsibility. Michael Harkin killed 38-year-old Dan Childs at HMP Bristol in south-west England in June last year, his crime coming to light after he had attacked a former cellmate. Woman charged with murder following death of Gillian Connelly in Lincolnshire

A WOMAN has been charged with murder following the death of 44-year-old Gillian Connelly in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. June 29, 1915

Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa, a prominent Fenian leader and member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, passed away in New York on June 29, 1915. Born in Co. Cork, Rossa was arrested and in 1865. He was charged with planning a Fenian Rising. He served out his sentence in England and after realizing he could not return to Ireland in exile, Rossa moved to the U.S. where he joined Clan Na Gael and the Fenian Brotherhood. A memorial to Rossa Stands in St. Stephen’s Green.
