‘Heartbroken’ family pay tribute as elderly man with ‘heart of gold’ dies in hospital

AN elderly man who was found seriously injured on a road died in hospital days after the incident. Patrick McCooey was found with serious injuries on Royal Drive in Leigh, Greater Manchester on June 28. Man charged with murder of Irishman Fintan McDwyer in Manchester

A MAN has been charged with the murder of an Irishman in Manchester. Direece Roche is due to appear Manchester Magistrates Court today. Concern for man missing from Ireland who may now be in England

A MAN who is missing from Ireland may now be in England, according to police. Martin Lambert is believed to have left Ireland and arrived in England on June 14 and may have travelled to Sittingbourne in Kent on June 25. On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
