Family’s emotional tribute as Tommie Gorman funeral details confirmed

THE family of much-loved Irish journalist Tommie Gorman have paid an emotional tribute to him following his death earlier this week at the age of 68. Teen killed in collision between bus and e-scooter on Irish road

A TEENAGER has died from injuries sustained when a bus and an e-scooter collided in Co. Waterford. The incident happened at around 1.10am this morning on the R680 Cork Road. Irish government appoints chair for inquiry into epilepsy drug which causes birth defects

THE Irish Government has appointed a chairperson for an inquiry into the use of an epilepsy drug which can cause birth defects if taken by pregnant women. Irish American author of “Angela’s Ashes” and Pulitzer Prize winner Frank McCourt passed away on July 19, 2009 in New York after battling melanoma cancer. Originally born in Brooklyn to Malachy and Angela McCourt, his parents moved the family back to Limerick after the death of his younger sister Margaret. The McCourts sunk very deep into poverty and this became the influence behind his autobiography “Angela’s Ashes.” In addition to writing, Frank McCourt had a successful career as a teacher.
