TWO men have died following separate road traffic collisions in Northern Ireland. In the first incident, a pedestrian was fatally injured after a collision with a vehicle on John Street in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone at around 6.30pm on Friday. Man released as woman found dead in Co. Wexford is named locally

A MAN arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Co. Wexford has been released. The woman, who has been named locally as 32-year-old Paula Lawlor, was found unresponsive at a property in the Baile Eoghain area of Gorey at around 3am on Thursday. Gardaí appeal for information on woman missing from Co. Louth

GARDÍ are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of woman missing from Co. Loputh. Emma Breen, 41, is missing from her home in Drogheda since December 15. Gardaí prevent ‘imminent threat to life attack’ as gun and ammunition seized

After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
