Pedestrian dies from injuries following Co. Waterford collision earlier this month

A PEDESTRIAN who was injured in a collision in Co. Waterford earlier this month has passed away. The man, aged in his 60s, was involved in a collision with a truck on the N25 near Ardmore at around 6.20pm on June 9. A MAN from Co. Down who was found guilty of child rape has been jailed for four-and-a-half years. The 39-year-old man from the Newtownards area was also found guilty of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Bill Doolin, famous western outlaw of Irish descent, escaped from jail on this day in 1896. Born in Arkansas, Doolin went west and worked several jobs as a cowboy on Oklahoma ranches. He eventually became a member of the Dalton gang, who attempted several robberies. In 1892, Doolin formed his own gang called the Wild Bunch, which became the most infamous outlaw group of the west at that time. Doolin was eventually shot and killed by U.S. Marshal Heck Thomas.
