IRELAND’S Justice Minister Helen McEntee has welcomed 4,800 migrants who have become citizens of Ireland this week. Their new status has been formalised at citizenship ceremonies held in Killarney, Co Kerry yesterday and today. Funeral confirmed after body of missing Irishwoman Teresa Tannian found

THE SEARCH for a missing Irishwoman has been stood down after a body was found in Co. Galway. Teresa Tannian was last seen at her home in Kilina at around 7pm on May 25. First athletes representing Ireland at Paris Paralympics named

IRELAND has named the first of its athletes who will represent the nation at the Paralympic Games in Paris this summer. Irish American author of “Angela’s Ashes” and Pulitzer Prize winner Frank McCourt passed away on July 19, 2009 in New York after battling melanoma cancer. Originally born in Brooklyn to Malachy and Angela McCourt, his parents moved the family back to Limerick after the death of his younger sister Margaret. The McCourts sunk very deep into poverty and this became the influence behind his autobiography “Angela’s Ashes.” In addition to writing, Frank McCourt had a successful career as a teacher.
