Woman, 23, dies after dog attack in Co. Limerick

A WOMAN has died following a dog attack in Co. Limerick on Tuesday. The incident occurred at around 11.40pm at a property in the Ballyneety area. A statement from gardaí said the 23-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been named locally as Nicole Morey and the incident is reported to have occurred on her birthday. Five teenagers injured in early morning collision on Irish road

FIVE teenagers were injured when a car they were travelling in was involved in a collision in the early hours of the morning. The incident happened on the N5 at Deerpark near Swinford in Co. Irish American author of “Angela’s Ashes” and Pulitzer Prize winner Frank McCourt passed away on July 19, 2009 in New York after battling melanoma cancer. Originally born in Brooklyn to Malachy and Angela McCourt, his parents moved the family back to Limerick after the death of his younger sister Margaret. The McCourts sunk very deep into poverty and this became the influence behind his autobiography “Angela’s Ashes.” In addition to writing, Frank McCourt had a successful career as a teacher.
