Lorry drivers arrested in England over huge drug seizures worth around £2m

TWO lorry drivers have been charged with drugs offences after 104kg of cannabis was seized in two separate seizures in England. Infant dies in road traffic incident in Co. Clare

AN INFANT boy has died following a road traffic incident in Co. Clare this afternoon. Gardaí attended the scene of the incident, which occurred at a residential area on the Quin Road in Ennis shortly before 12.30pm. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
