TRIBUTES have been paid after a Roscommon woman who was reported missing over the weekend was found dead. Gardaí issued a missing persons alert on Friday, March 22 after Niamh Hand went missing from her home in Roosky. High-value car found stripped bare after ‘well-planned theft’

POLICE are investigating after a car stolen in Northern Ireland was found abandoned in the Republic after being stripped bare for parts. The Audi Q7 was stolen from a home in Strabane, Co. Pay rise for PSNI officers approved by Northern Ireland’s Justice Minister Naomi Long

JUSTICE Minister Naomi Long has approved a seven per cent pay rise for PSNI officers. Ireland’s Crown Jewels are found missing on this day in 1907, just before days before a state visit by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The theft remains a mystery to this day. Arthur Vicars, Officer of Arms at Dublin Castle, held the jewels in his office and publicly accused his second in command, Francis Shackleton. Shackleton was exonerated and the case was never solved. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle used this historical event as the influence for his Sherlock Holmes story “The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans.”
