POLICE have appealed for three teenage girls who may have seen a vulnerable Irish woman before she went missing to come forward. Paula Elliott was last seen near the Lagan Towpath in Lisburn, Co. Man charged with attempted murder after two people stabbed

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after two people were stabbed at a house in Nottingham. Police praise return of ‘peaceful’ St Patrick’s Parade in Birmingham

Man jailed for ‘despicable’ child sexual assault

A MAN who carried out a 'despicable' sexual assault on a child before forcing his victim to endure a trial has been jailed. Ireland’s Crown Jewels are found missing on this day in 1907, just before days before a state visit by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The theft remains a mystery to this day. Arthur Vicars, Officer of Arms at Dublin Castle, held the jewels in his office and publicly accused his second in command, Francis Shackleton. Shackleton was exonerated and the case was never solved. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle used this historical event as the influence for his Sherlock Holmes story “The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans.”
