A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Co. Cork. The incident occurred on the Newtown Road in Cobh on Friday evening. Pedestrian who died in collision in Co. Donegal to be laid to rest

A PEDESTRIAN who died following a collision with a lorry in Co. Donegal is to be laid to rest today. The man has been named locally as Ciarán McArt from Letterkenny. Government announces €9m funding pot to restore historic buildings across Ireland

GRANTS worth €9m have been earmarked by the Irish Government to support the renovation and restoration of some of the country’s most historic buildings. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
