Hollywood star Fionnuala Flanagan receives handprint honour in Ireland

IRISH actor Fionnuala Flanagan has been honoured at a handprint ceremony in Dublin. The Dubliner was immortalised at the city’s Gaiety Theatre, where her handprints were cast in bronze during a ceremony held yesterday. Government announces €9m funding pot to restore historic buildings across Ireland

GRANTS worth €9m have been earmarked by the Irish Government to support the renovation and restoration of some of the country’s most historic buildings. TWO people have been arrested following a police raid on a property in Co. Down. Celtic release new jersey to celebrate club’s Irish foundations

A first edition draft of a chapter from James Joyce’s “Ulysses” is sold for close to £900,000 at an auction on this date in 2001. The scribble-filled manuscript of the chapter, titled Eumaeus, was sold by Sotheby’s. It was expected to sell for more than £1m.
