Funding injection of €289k to save out of print Irish language books for future generations

THE Irish Government has announced a €289k funding injection to reprint a range of Irish language books which are currently out of print or are about to be. Family left ‘heartbroken’ after young man killed in collision between car and truck

A YOUNG man who died after the car he was travelling in collided with a truck in Co. Cavan has been named locally as Dylan Costin. The vehicles collided on the N3 at Drumcrauve in Co. Appeal for information on birthday of Irishman missing for more than 30 years

DETECTIVES have reissued a missing persons appeal on the birthday of a man last seen nearly 40 years ago. David Foster was last seen in the Ballymacash Park area of Lisburn in Co. Street art exhibition brings public on a journey through Dublin’s ‘nooks and crannies’

SIX artists feature in a unique outdoor exhibition which opens this week as part of Dublin’s St Patrick’s Festival. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
