Arson investigation launched following fire at former school

AN investigation has been launched after 50 firefighters worked for hours to put out a blaze at a former school. A first edition draft of a chapter from James Joyce’s “Ulysses” is sold for close to £900,000 at an auction on this date in 2001. The scribble-filled manuscript of the chapter, titled Eumaeus, was sold by Sotheby’s. It was expected to sell for more than £1m.
