‘Heinous’ child predator who abused 47 victims jailed for 27 years

A BELFAST man has been jailed for 27 years for a catalogue of sex abuse offences against children. David Andrews, of HMP Maghaberry, was sentenced today at Downpatrick Crown Court after the 55-year-old pleaded guilty to 130 charges of sexual abuse. Denis Johnston, Irish playwright and protege of W.B. Yeats and George Bernard Shaw, was born on this day in 1901. Johnston’s first play, “The Old Lady Says No!” helped establish his career as a playwright. “The Moon in the Yellow River” (1931) is perhaps his most well known play.
