ESB says 395,000 customers left without power following Storm Darragh

ALMOST 400,000 customers were left without power as Storm Darragh battered Ireland at the weekend. A further 48,000 were similarly affected in Northern Ireland at the peak of the outages. Gardaí renew appeal for witnesses to hit-and-run that claimed life of Co. Kildare teenager

GARDAÍ have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a fatal hit-and-run in Co. Kildare last month. Kedagh Moore, 16, died at the scene of the collision on the R403 in Blackwood near Robertstown at around 12.30am on Sunday, November 10. Denis Johnston, Irish playwright and protege of W.B. Yeats and George Bernard Shaw, was born on this day in 1901. Johnston’s first play, “The Old Lady Says No!” helped establish his career as a playwright. “The Moon in the Yellow River” (1931) is perhaps his most well known play.
