A WOMAN who was left critically injured following a serious assault in Cork city over the weekend has died in hospital. Galway and Wexford GAA report record spending and surpluses for 2024

Wexford GAA and Galway GAA have both reported strong financial results for 2024. Galway set a new inter-county record with €2.7 million in team spending, slightly higher than 2023’s €2.65 million. GARDAÍ seized illegal drugs worth more than €105k during a raid on a house in Co. Cork. Forrest Reid, Irish novelist and literary critic, was born on this day in Belfast in 1875. To this day, Reid is regarded amongst the likes of J.M. Barrie and Hugh Walpole as a pre-war British boyhood novelist. His most famous work was Young Tom, for which he won a James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1944.
