A SEARCH operation in west Dublin today saw the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) seize 23 vehicles and €400,000 in cash and frozen funds. The search was part of an ongoing CAB investigation into targets linked to a Dublin-based organised crime group. GARDAÍ are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man whose body was recovered from the water in Co. Galway 10 days ago. Remains exhumed in Co. Monaghan in search for one of the Disappeared

REMAINS have been exhumed from a grave in Co. Monaghan as part of a search for Joe Lynskey, one of the so-called Disappeared. Man charged with attempted murder over Co. Antrim shooting

DETECTIVES investigating a shooting incident in Co. Antrim on Monday have charged a man with attempted murder. Legendary actor and Oscar winner Gregory Peck died on this day in 2003. Peck, who’s grandmother Catherine Ashe came from Dingle, studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and debuted in his first Broadway show The Morning Star after graduation. His role in The Keys of the Kingdom in 1944 won him an Academy Award nomination. He became well known for his rugged screen presence and was often cast as the hero, especially in westerns. He starred opposite Audrey Hepburn in her first film Roman Holiday. Peck finally won the Oscar for his role as Atticus Finch in 1962’s To Kill a Mockingbird.
