Covent Garden murder suspect charged as victim named

A MAN has been charged with murder after a pensioner was found with serious injuries which led to his death last month. Metropolitan Police officers have named the victim as 74-year-old James O’Neill, known to his family as ‘Jim’. Public consultation opens on Ireland’s first marine national park

THE Irish Government has launched a public consultation period regarding plans for the nation’s first marine national park. Funeral confirmed for young man killed in tractor incident

TRIBUTES have been paid to a young man who died following a tractor incident in Co. Galway. Joshua Sullivan died after the tractor he was a passenger in was involved in a collision in Oranmore on November 2. Gardaí were called to the incident on a local road in Rinn at around 3.30pm. Arrest made after man stabbed in the neck

DETECTIVES have made an arrest after a man was stabbed in the neck as he walked through the city of Belfast in the early hours of yesterday morning. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
