‘Extremely rare’ Irish banknotes set to fetch high price at auction

THREE ‘extremely rare’ Irish banknotes are expected to fetch a high price when they go under the hammer this month. The notes, which all bear the serial number 000001, will be among the lots up for auction at Noonans next week. UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was among the guests in Dublin this week for an event marking the start of Ireland’s Presidency of the European Council. Man arrested in connection with Marian Beattie murder investigation

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the historic murder of Marian Beattie. The 18-year-old’s body was found at the bottom of a quarry near Aughnacloy in Co. After 38 years of occupation in Northern Ireland, the British Army officially withdrew their forces at midnight on July 31, 2007. “Operation Banner,” England’s longest continuous military operation, saw 300,000 British soldiers stationed in Northern Ireland through out the 38 years. Operation Banner concluded on July 31st, with 762 English soldiers dead in the wake of the campaign.
