Police issue renewed appeal for information on murder of man in Co. Derry

POLICE investigating the murder of a man in Co. Derry have issued a renewed appeal for information. Concern grows for man, 81, missing from Co. Wexford

GARDAÍ are appealing to the public for assistance in locating an 81-year-old man who has been missing from Co. Wexford for more than a week. Christopher Pitman has been missing from Rosslare Harbour since January 10. He is described as being approximately 5' 4" in height, with blue eyes and grey hair and beard. Three time Olympic gold medalist and Irish swimmer Michelle de Bruin was stripped of her swimming records on this day in 1999 and was officially banned from swimming competitively for four years after it was discovered that she had tampered with a required urine sample. De Bruin was suspected by many as having taken performance-enhancing drugs and the ban effectively ended her swimming career.
