FIVE people have been arrested following disorder in Derry on Saturday, with police treating the incident as sectarian-motivated. Belfast man jailed for catalogue of ‘horrific’ child sexual abuse

A BELFAST man has been handed a 20-year sentence for a catalogue of 'horrific' child sexual abuse. ‘Always an Olympian’: Tributes following shock death of Irish athlete Ciarán Ó Lionáird

TRIBUTES have been paid following the death of Irish athlete Ciarán Ó Lionáird. The 38-year-old runner, who hailed from Co. Bill Doolin, famous western outlaw of Irish descent, escaped from jail on this day in 1896. Born in Arkansas, Doolin went west and worked several jobs as a cowboy on Oklahoma ranches. He eventually became a member of the Dalton gang, who attempted several robberies. In 1892, Doolin formed his own gang called the Wild Bunch, which became the most infamous outlaw group of the west at that time. Doolin was eventually shot and killed by U.S. Marshal Heck Thomas.
