Ireland welcomes 6,000 new citizens in series of ceremonies

IRELAND has granted Irish citizenship to 6,000 people this week. A series of ceremonies have taken place at the Convention Centre Dublin to mark the occasion. Murder investigation launched following death of man in Co. Antrim

A MURDER investigation is underway following the death of a man in Co. Antrim. The 42-year-old was found seriously injured at a property in Lisburn in the early hours of yesterday morning. A WOMAN has lost £40k to a romance scammer she met on social media. The woman, from Enniskillen in Co. Fermanagh, developed a relationship with the scammer online before being persuaded into transferring money to them. American President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle landed in Ireland on the first day of a six-day European tour. He met with Taoiseach Enda Kenny and then President Mary McAleese, before visiting relatives in the village of Moneygall, Co. Offaly, form where his great-great-great grandfather Folmouth Kearney left in 1850 at the age of 19. He drank a pint of Guinness, as did his wife, in Ollie Hayes pub. Obama also gave a speech in College Green, Dublin to a crowd of 25,000, and planted a tree in Phoenix Park.
