IRELAND’S EU Minister Thomas Byrne has begun an official visit to Spain this week to strengthen relations between the nations. Ireland deports adults and children on chartered flight to Georgia

IRELAND has deported 52 people on a chartered flight to Georgia this morning. Man dies in early hours collision in Galway

A MAN has died in a collision in Co. Galway. The single vehicle incident happened in Lavally in Tuam in the early hours of the morning on November 2. The man, aged in 30s, was the only person in the car, which crashed on the L2107 at Cappadavock at around 4.30am. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Representatives appointed by Eamon de Valera of the Irish government, who include revolutionary Michael Collins, meet with representatives of the crown on this day in 1921 to sign the Anglo-Irish treaty. This officially marked the end of the Irish War for Independence. Collins, who did not support the agreement, remarked “I have signed by own death warrant.” One year later, however, the Irish Free State would come into being.
