E-scooter rider dies in hospital after being found seriously injured on Dublin road

A YOUNG man who was involved in a collision while riding an electric scooter in Dublin has since died in hospital. The man, aged in his 20s, was found seriously injured on the Cappagh Road in Finglas at round 5pm on Sunday, June 15. Motorcyclist dies following collision in Monaghan

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after being involved in a collision with a car in Co. Monagham. The man, aged in his 40s, collided with the car on the R190 at Lisnalong yesterday afternoon (June 16). Aer Lingus partners with Dr Norah Patten ahead of historic space mission

AER LINGUS has confirmed a new partnership with Mayo woman Dr Norah Patten who is set to become the first Irish person ever to go to space. Bank of Ireland joins British anti-fraud initiative

BANK of Ireland UK has now formally joined the 159 initiative, a cross-border service that offers a direct line to shield customers from financial fraud. ‘Final justice’ for Tuam babies as complex excavation works to recover remains begins

THE excavation of the site of a former mother and baby home in Co. Galway, where 796 children are believed to be buried, has begun. The British ocean liner Lusitania was sunk by a German u-boat off the coast of Ireland, about 14 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale. The ship sank in 18 minutes and though there were enough lifeboats aboard, the severity prevented them from being launched. Of the 1,959 passengers on board, 1,198 drowned, 128 of them U.S. citizens. The death toll shocked the world and proved the impetus for America to enter WWI. The Germans contended that they only fired because the ship was carrying munitions. In 2008 a diving team explored the wreck and found millions of U.S. made Remington bullets which would seem to support that theory.
