FORMER Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams has said the BBC is 'out of sync' with the Good Friday Agreement after winning a libel case against the broadcaster. Co. Galway pair jailed over counterfeit cash scam across England as warrant issued for third man

TWO men from Co. Galway have been jailed over their role in a counterfeit cash scam carried out across England. Patrick Ward, 22, of Coole Park, Galway, and Jason Ward, 19, of Radharc Na Freine, Galway, have been jailed for 30 months and 28 months rerspectively. Man extradited to North to stand trial for rape

A MAN has been extradited to Northern Ireland to stand trial for rape. The 35-year-old man was arrested in Ireland on April 9 before being extradited to the North on Friday. He had been subject to an investigation by the PSNI's Rape Crime Unit and is sought to stand trial in relation to a rape that occurred in Belfast in October 2023. The British ocean liner Lusitania was sunk by a German u-boat off the coast of Ireland, about 14 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale. The ship sank in 18 minutes and though there were enough lifeboats aboard, the severity prevented them from being launched. Of the 1,959 passengers on board, 1,198 drowned, 128 of them U.S. citizens. The death toll shocked the world and proved the impetus for America to enter WWI. The Germans contended that they only fired because the ship was carrying munitions. In 2008 a diving team explored the wreck and found millions of U.S. made Remington bullets which would seem to support that theory.
