Date Holyhead Port set to fully reopen confirmed

THE date that Holyhead Port is expected to reopen fully has been confirmed by its operators. All sailings were cancelled at the port from December 7, 2024 after Storm Darragh caused significant damage to two of its berths. Last month access to the Terminal 5 ferry berth was restored. Man found guilty of 2017 rape and murder of Irish backpacker in India

A MAN has been found guilty of the rape and murder of Irish backpacker Danielle McLaughlin in Goa, India eight years ago. The 28-year-old was found deceased in the Canacona area of Goa in March 2017. A MAN caught with chemicals that could have been used to manufacture homemade explosives as well as being in possession of hundreds of indecent images of children has been jailed. A TEENAGER has been arrested after a man was seriously assaulted in Co. Cavan. The incident occurred on Main Street in Cavan Town shortly before midnight on Friday. Denis Johnston, Irish playwright and protege of W.B. Yeats and George Bernard Shaw, was born on this day in 1901. Johnston’s first play, “The Old Lady Says No!” helped establish his career as a playwright. “The Moon in the Yellow River” (1931) is perhaps his most well known play.
