A WOMAN in her 70s has died following a collision in Co. Kilkenny. The two-vehicle collision occurred on the N25 at Luffany in Slieverue at approximately 5:50pm on Friday. A MAN in his 60s has died after a jeep collided with an electricity pole in Dublin. The single-vehicle collision occurred on the East Wall Road in Dublin 1 shortly before midnight on Thursday, January 2. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798.
