Wicklow girl dies in balcony fall in Mallorca

AN 11-year-old Co. Wicklow girl has died while on holiday after falling off a hotel balcony in Mallorca. Clodagh Phelan died after falling from the 7th floor balcony. La Guardia Civil, the Spanish police, say there are treating the death as an accident. Man arrested after €8m drugs seizure in Dublin

A MAN has been arrested following the seizure of €8m of suspected drugs in Dublin on Friday. €1m in cash was also discovered during the search operation at a residence in The Ward, Dublin 11, conducted by the Dublin Crime Response Team. Bill Doolin, famous western outlaw of Irish descent, escaped from jail on this day in 1896. Born in Arkansas, Doolin went west and worked several jobs as a cowboy on Oklahoma ranches. He eventually became a member of the Dalton gang, who attempted several robberies. In 1892, Doolin formed his own gang called the Wild Bunch, which became the most infamous outlaw group of the west at that time. Doolin was eventually shot and killed by U.S. Marshal Heck Thomas.
