A 73-YEAR-OLD man has been charged in relation to the non-recent sexual abuse of children. Thomas Davin, from Sale, Greater Manchester, has been charged with six counts of rape, four counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual activity with a child. Man charged with attempted murder following Co. Antrim stabbing

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Co. Antrim. The incident occurred in the North Street area of Upper Ballinderry at around 3.40pm on Friday. Man in critical condition after Co. Down shooting

POLICE have appealed for information following a shooting in Co. Down that left a man in a critical condition in hospital. The man, aged in his 40s, was shot in the abdomen while in a car park in Rathriland Road, Banbridge shortly after 8pm on Friday. A first edition draft of a chapter from James Joyce’s “Ulysses” is sold for close to £900,000 at an auction on this date in 2001. The scribble-filled manuscript of the chapter, titled Eumaeus, was sold by Sotheby’s. It was expected to sell for more than £1m.
