Party Face, a new comedy by Irish writer Isobel Mahon, made its Off-Broadway debut as part of the 10th annual Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival in New York in January, starring Hayley Mills, of Parent Trap and Pollyanna fame. In February, New York City’s Irish Arts Center will stage a three-night run of one of the most unique Irish theater spectacles of the year. 329 passengers were killed in a plane crash off the coast of Ireland. Air India flight 182 was en route from Montreal to Dehli, when it was blown up in Irish airspace by a bomb. Investigation into the flight led Canadian officials to believe that a Sikh militant group called Babbar Khalsa was responsible for the bombing. 280 Canadian citizens, 27 British citizens and 22 Indian citizens were lost, resulting in the largest mass murder in modern Canadian history. A monument remembering the event was unveiled in 1986 in Ahakista, Cork.
