Brendán Murphy
Lippincott
Brendán Murphy is a senior partner and Global Executive Creative Director in design at Lippincott, with over 30 years of experience. A native of Dublin, he has led identity design, brand voice, campaign development, and customer experience innovation for global clients including Aer Lingus, AIG, Anthem BCBS, Morgan Stanley, Samsung, and The New Yorker. His pro bono work supports organizations like NYC Pride and The Humane Society.
Brendán’s work has been featured in Design Management Journal, Graphis, Metropolis, and The Wall Street Journal, and discussed on National Public Radio.
He created a universal access symbol for the Society of Environmental Graphic Design, now used worldwide including at The Museum of Modern Art. He has spoken
at SXSW and AIGA.
His first book, Ready for School, Murphy? was published by Disney Hyperion in 2015. Brendán has lectured at The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and earned awards from SEGD, Type Directors Club, and Graphis. He holds a B.Sc. degree from Pittsburg State University, an M.Des. from the University of Cincinnati, and studied painting at the National College of Art and Design.
