Brian Cashman

Brian Cashman has been a part of the Yankees family since he was nineteen, working as an intern in the club’s Minor League and Scouting Department. In 1998, at age thirty-one Cashman became the second-youngest General Manager in baseball history. Now serving as both Senior Vice President and General Manager, he is the longest-tenured GM under George Steinbrenner. Although Brian has spent the last twenty-one seasons with the Yankees, his first position in baseball was as bat boy for the Los Angeles Dodgers in spring training in 1982.

Brian has received many accolades for his work with the Yankees. He was named “Executive of the Year” three times – by the Boston chapter of the BBWAA in 2000; and in 1999 and 2003 by the New Jersey Sportswriters Association. In 2005 he was honored with the “Ossie Davis Award for Inspirational Leadership.”  Brian attended Catholic University where he played intercollegiate baseball and received a Bachelor’s degree in History.
