Brain O’Dwyer, a partner in the law firm O’Dwyer and Bernstien, has represented many famous clients, winning some judgments of more than one million dollars. He is also a strong advocate for immigrant rights and has served as chairman of the Emerald Isle Immigration Center, a support group for Irish immigrants in New York. He has also received special citations from former Governor Mario Cuomo for his long-term work with Chinese and Vietnamese immigrants.
O’Dwyer works with various charities and outreach groups, including a drug and alcohol rehabilitation project. In 1993, O’Dwyer was appointed Commissioner of the New York City Commission on Human Rights by then-Mayor David Dinkins. And when President Clinton visited Ireland last December, Brian O’Dwyer was among the delegation of Irish Americans that traveled with him. A native New Yorker, O’Dwyer and his wife have two children.
