Catherine Flood

Croston Flood Recruiting

Catherine Flood, originally from Carrickroe, Co. Monaghan is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Croston Flood Recruiting, Consulting & Events, a firm specializing in executive recruitment, organizational consulting, and event strategy for corporations, nonprofits, and community organizations.

A prominent figure in the Irish American community, Catherine helped establish the Aisling Irish Community Center shortly after arriving in New York in the early 1990s. She served on its Board of Directors for 24 years, developing programs, leading major fundraising initiatives, and organizing large-scale community events including the Center’s 25th Anniversary celebration. She has helped raise millions of dollars for Irish American charities and revitalized numerous organizations.

Catherine is a lifelong champion of Irish sports and culture. She founded the Monaghan Ladies GAA Club and played a pivotal role in the early development of the New York Ladies GAA.

An accomplished marathon runner 20 and counting Catherine regularly raises funds for the Errigal Truagh Special Needs Center, a cherished charity in her home parish. In 2018, she founded Team Aisling NY, a community fitness club for all ages. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group raised over $80,000 for Meitheal, with Catherine running a virtual marathon, while friends joined her on route in support.

Catherine lives in New York with her husband and Galway native, Dermot O’Brien, and their three daughters, Siena, Stella, and Michaela, who are affectionately known as Team Happy Feet and are celebrated for their annual Thermal Sock Drive benefiting the homeless. A former Head Girl of St. Louis Convent, Monaghan, Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism from Berkeley College, NY, and is an enthusiastic member of the Irish Business Network, Women with Ambition, and several other Irish American initiatives.
